All the way down

Guilt isn’t an outmoded emotion from churched days of lore. It’s actually a very useful one, to a certain degree.

Sometimes it’s a massive undeserved gift when we become terrified of ourselves and the hurt that we’re capable of to both self and others.

There are plenty of cases where guilt is absolutely the most appropriate response. It’s the first step of our impending rescue from the old creature that clings to us.

And one more thing…

Guilt is a lot easier to feel - in a healthy way - when you hold the notion that God’s grace is infinitely bigger than any guilt you can ever feel.

It makes guilt safe. Cleansing, even (again, to a certain degree).

All is grace.
All the way down.
Amen.
