Safety and comfort

I’ve found that the most fertile environment for human change takes place in one of both extreme safety and intense discomfort.

Like a rock climber ascending the face, the process may be exhilarating, exhausting, and scary. But knowing her belay team is holding her rope allows her to take bigger leaps of faith than if she was totally exposed.

What if you knew you were safe? But what if that also meant that you’d still occasionally incur flesh wounds, sharp falls, and rocks falling on your head?

Could those two possibilities go together in your experience?
