End the story

People will write their own stories about you in their minds. Some are good. Some are more like soap-operas, bad comedies, or slasher flicks. We all know this at some level, even though we may not want to admit it or think about it for too long.

The problem is when you see or talk to these particular people, they try to hook you into that story they’ve concocted about you.

But here’s where your ninja skills will come into play… Because you are gonna cut that story off like a samurai before it enters your mind.

You’re not going to continue their story in your head. That’s their story. And there’s not much you can do about it. It’s already been written.

Just don’t play a part that they’ve produced, directed, and co-starred in.

Make it a monologue. Not a duet.
