Sit with it

Don’t try to fix it, manipulate it, or cajole it.

This is what the brain wants to do. It wants to figure it out, fight it, or run away from it.

How about this?…

Try sitting with it.

I’m talking about those emotions that seem so “bad” and “unspiritual”. Emotions like fear, hate, disgust, shame, weakness, envy, and greed.

They come up. Don’t shun them. Don’t indulge them.

Just sit with them.

Feeling uneasy? Keep sitting. Look straight at them. And watch them fade into the nothingness from which they came.
