Create for the hell of it

We live in a world of response. We respond to what the boss says, what the news says, what our spouse says. In this, we lose ourselves. What we want to do. What we must do. Our soul’s voice becomes muted and eventually fades.

Try making something every day. It doesn’t have to be for anyone else (although it’s nice if it is). It can be as much as a sketch, a doodle, a journal entry, a note to someone, a kind word, an intriguing thought, a lesson — something.

Create for no reason at all.

I don’t have to write these little nuggets of thought every day. No one’s paying me to. No one’s twisting my arm.

I write every day because I want creativity to become a habit.
