“I’m at the point in my life where I don’t do anything I don’t want to do.”
A friend of mine recently told me this. And then I heard it from another friend a few days later, but she put it another way…
“I’m not doing anything unless it brings me joy.”
The synchronicity of ideas is amazing, isn’t it?
At first, I thought it was a stubborn way to look at things.
But now that it’s been rolling around upstairs for a few weeks, it’s starting to make sense. I’m seeing that it’s not a bad way to live.
Both friends who proclaimed this are more seasoned individuals in life and I think there’s a lot of wisdom held there.
Joseph Campbell said it too, in a different way.
Follow your bliss.
A simple truth — and a stubborn one — that can act as true north on the compass for one’s life.
